In carrying out the mission of education and equity for women and children, the Racine Branch focuses its local programming in the following general areas:
Public Policy. In 2002, the Public Policy committee carried out a Get Out The Vote project, working in collaboration with other community groups to publish a brochure and distribute it to 18-year-olds throughout the county.
Education. The Education Committee researched, wrote, published, and distributed a publication – "Defining the Basics," which explored the meaning of issues involving charter schools, choice, and vouchers, as well as the special option available within the Racine Unified School District.
Community. Each year, a Racine area concern is featured as a dinner meeting presentation. For example, recently the Heritage Museum described the newly proposed museum through its interactive video, as well as its proposed capital campaign.
Women. Issues involving the status of women are explored. For the past several years, the Racine Branch has taken a leadership role in sponsoring a "Women in the Arts" day celebrating Women’s History Month in March. In 2003, the branch is exploring human service resources that explore the plight of women in distress.
